Thermal Engineer
Our customer is a leading European system house, specialised in the development and implementation of high technology solutions for aerospace.
You will be working in a team of experienced thermal architects on the following activities:
Responsibilities:
Definition of the Thermal Control System (TCS) for space missions including:
- Establishing of thermal models (GMM and TMM)
- Defining critical mission environments for analysed instruments
- Defining conducting trade-off studies to support thermal design decisions
- Definition of thermal test environments
And
- Writing of thermal technical reports
- Generation of input for technical specifications
- Presentation of the TCS design in internal and external meetings
- Cooperation with other technical disciplines (structural, electrical, optical)
Skills and Experience:
You ideally should have the following qualifications and experience:
- University degree in physics, aerospace engineering or other relevant discipline
- Sound knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic laws
- Working knowledge of the main European thermal analysis tools (ESATAN-TMS)
- Several years of experience in thermal design and analysis in aerospace industry
- Working experience in thermal design of spaceborne optical instruments
- Experience in the planning and conducting of thermal tests
- Knowledge of Matlab, FeMap or HyperMesh is desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Fluency in English is mandatory; German would be an asset
