Design Engineer

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The department is responsible for the design & layout of fully integrated propulsion modules of civil launcher systems, including its corresponding subsystems and products. The activities encompass the conceptual design, the preliminary and detailed 3D design, the preparation of the manufacturing and integration documentation, the treatment of design changes as well as the support of manufacturing and integration activities.     

As part of the Ariane Design department, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • General and detailed 3D design activities taking into account:
    • Design and manufacturing requirements and processes
    • Functional requirements (eg segregation rules for the electrical system, pressure, temperature, max. pressure drop)
    • Mechanical requirements (frequency and stress)
    • Integration sequence and accessibility
  • Establishment and update of 3D models and assemblies in Catia V5/Teamcenter
  • Implementation of PMI (product manufacturing information) via 3D annotations – application of MBD (model-based definition) methodology.
  • Elaboration of bills of material and release of associated data packages in link with SAP
  • Elaboration of interface specifications and data packages for subsystems developed by external partners

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with 3D models and assemblies in CATIA V5/Teamcenter and 2D documentation
  • Motivated team player, who enjoys working in an international environment
  • Customer oriented and with open mindset
  • G37-Bildschirmarbeitsplätze completed or available
  • Business fluent in German and English is mandatory, and knowledge of French is a plus.
