Galileo Ground Control Segment AIV Engineer (Temporary)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of the AIV team at ESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Review the element and segment test procedures to ensure completeness;
  • Ensure that the GCS functional and design requirements are adequately verified; Ensure that the GCS compliance to the applicable requirements is correctly verified by the Prime Contractor during planned test campaigns either at element or system level;
  • Ensure that verification performed is compatible with any test requirements at system level;
  • Attend to the AIV meetings, test campaign dry-runs and formal runs onsite;
  • Review and closely monitor the requirements verification matrix and confirm allocation of requirements verification to milestones;
  • Review the Segment Verification Control Documents to ensure accuracy and correctness;
  • Organize the ESA level VCBs to endorse the verification performed by industry;
  • Assist other AIV related activities, including schedule reviews, anomaly assessments, Waiver assessments, documentation reviews and configuration
  • control;
  • Participate in GCS review milestones.

Skills & Experience

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Several years of practical experience in the development, integration, verification and testing of satellite monitoring and control infrastructure;
  • Good knowledge of applicable ECSS as well as Galileo applicable standards;
  • Good knowledge of the Galileo system design, Galileo Control Segment design and of satellite control infrastructures (e.g. ESOC, DLR, EUMETSAT, etc.);
  • Knowledge and experience of the concept of AIV and Qualification implemented in the Ground Control Segment; Willingness to travel;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
