Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The required service capability is as follows:
- Operations of systems including, but not limited to:
- System and Ground Segment Operations;
- Communications & Networks Operations;
- System Monitoring and Reporting;
- Operations Security;
- Operations Infrastructure;
- Operations Training;
- Multi-Mission Tools (such as mass storage and archiving).
- Implementation, verification and operational validation of new operational systems and elements, and their evolution;
- Contribution to the system operations preparation and verification/validation for new satellite systems;
- Provision of support to anomaly investigation;
- Preparation and maintenance of operations documentation;
- Training of operational personnel for system operations;
- Contribution to the definition, development and operational validation of operational concepts for future satellite systems.
Qualifications
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
- Bachelor in aerospace industry or a relevant discipline;
- Expert skills in C and C++;
- Demonstrated skills in additional higher programming languages (e.g. Fortran, Python);
- Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills;
- Demonstrated knowledge of physics of remote sensing of ocean and atmosphere;
- Experience with the development of modular, clearly readable and adaptable scientific software is required, including the configuration control of the developed codes;
- Experience on the visualisation of remote sensing data using specific tools or programming languages (Python, IDL…);
- Experience in scientific analysis, especially on remote sensing of marine and atmosphere from space, including the experience of prototyping algorithms or any related testing functions;
- Experience of operational satellite data processing systems;
- Experience on the maintenance of processors in the context of operational missions;
- Experience in software optimization and performance increase (parallel computing techniques on Linux clusters);
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
